Sembeza Predictor ("we", "our", or "us") is operated by Sembeza Africa. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the Sembeza Predictor mobile application, website, and related services.

By creating an account or using Sembeza Predictor, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app or website.

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information: name, email address, and authentication credentials provided during registration.
• Profile data: display name, notification preferences, and any updates you make to your account.
• Usage data: predictions you submit, points earned, leaderboard position, and match interaction history.
• Payment information: transaction records processed via Stripe. We do not store your full card details — all payment data is handled by Stripe.
• Device data: device type, operating system, app version, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens for push notifications.
• Support communications: messages you send via our live chat support feature.

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your Sembeza Predictor account.
• Process prediction entries and subscription payments.
• Calculate and award points, prizes, and tournament payouts.
• Send push notifications about match updates, lineup announcements, and results.
• Provide customer support via live chat and email.
• Maintain and improve the security, performance, and features of the app and website.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Stripe: payment processing for prediction entry fees and subscriptions.
• Firebase (Google): cloud storage, authentication, and push notifications.
• TheSportsDB: we fetch publicly available match and team data to power the app — no user data is shared.
• Legal requirements: if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal process.

We retain your account and activity data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed from our active systems within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes.

Support chat messages are retained for 12 months for quality assurance purposes.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.
• Data portability — receive a copy of your data in a portable format.

We use industry-standard security measures including Firebase Authentication, Firestore security rules, and TLS encryption in transit to protect your data.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong password and keep your login credentials confidential.

Sembeza Predictor is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Sembeza Predictor after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
